Authentic, Connection-Focused Family & Maternity Photography in Lake Tahoe

Your family and maternity photos should reflect this season of life as it truly feels—connected, evolving, and uniquely yours. My approach is simple: I focus on genuine interactions, natural light, and the landscapes that make Lake Tahoe such a meaningful place to document your story.

As a Lake Tahoe family and maternity photographer, I aim to capture authentic moments rather than heavily posed images. During your session, I’ll guide you with easy prompts so you feel comfortable and never unsure of what to do, while still leaving space for real connection to unfold. The result is a collection of images that feel natural, relaxed, and true to your family.

Maternity sessions are centered on this transition—documenting both the quiet anticipation and the connection between you and your growing family. Family sessions, on the other hand, focus on a balance of candid moments and a few gently directed portraits, creating a gallery that feels both honest and complete.

At Adorn Life Photography, sessions are designed to be easy and enjoyable. Whether you’re drawn to a calm morning by the water or a warm, golden-hour session in the mountains, your experience is meant to feel relaxed, natural, and reflective of you.

A Thoughtful, Unhurried Approach to Family Photography

Some children settle in right away, others need space. Larger groups naturally take more time to flow. Instead of watching the clock, I work intuitively, following your family’s energy and letting moments unfold organically.
The most meaningful images don’t come from rushing—they come from ease. When kids feel free to explore, when parents can simply be present, that’s when connection shows up in a real, effortless way. Those in-between moments, the quiet glances, the laughter that isn’t posed—those are the images that last.
Rushing a session often introduces pressure, especially for little ones, and that tension translates directly into the final gallery. My priority is always to create an environment where your family can feel comfortable, natural, and fully yourselves.
For families who choose to include film photography, the process becomes even more intentional. I transition between film and digital throughout the session, capturing each film moment with a digital backup. It’s a slower, more considered approach—but one that adds depth, texture, and a timeless quality to your images.
I don’t measure sessions by minutes—I shape them around your story. And for that reason, I don’t offer mini sessions. This approach simply isn’t about fitting your family into a limited time slot—it’s about giving your story the space it deserves.

Over time, one of the most common questions I receive is: “How long is the session?” or “Can we plan it for X minutes?”
While my contract allows for up to two hours, I approach timing a little differently—because no two families are the same.
